Collection removal

It looks like credit karma and Capital Ones Credit tracker both dropped a collection I just paid off. Does that mean it will fall off my MyFico accounts as well? It hasn't yet. CK went up 29 and CO went up 26. I'm hoping for a similar bump when/if MyFico uodates

Re: Collection removal

All scoring should be based on access to the same information.... your credit file with the respective CRA.

If scoring under one score provider indicated removal of the collection, be it as an exclusion or a deletion, then others accessing the same data to produce a score would see the same info.

Re: Collection removal

The myFICO tracker does not alert for removal of accounts. You wont see a score update here until something else triggers it - like a balance change or inquiry.

Re: Collection removal

Really? So it won't give me a score boost until something ELSE happens to my report? That's odd. But you seem to be correct. CK didn't tell me it was removed, but I got 1 new Account added (Cap 1) and noticed a 30pt boost and was surprised then I noticed I only have 1 collection remaining. Is that why my score went up a lot?

I have read that people get 50+ pays off a removed collection. And that they got a notice that it was removed.
