Comcast/ Eastern Account Systems

Good Morning!!

Before I go on this rant,  would like to thank everyone who has posted on this forum with there advice. With the help of your messages, I have been able to remove all of my collections (but one, see below) and now have "perfect" credit. Thank you all so much!

Earlier this month, i was able to get my final collection account removed after working on my credit for the past year. I started off with 16 collection accounts! About two weeks ago, I noticed a big drop in my credit score. When I took a look at it, it was because a new collection was added to my experian credit report by Eastern Account Systems for a comcast bill. I was previously an employee of comast and we didn't pay for the service, only the equipment so I thought, this had to be an error. I called the comcast and spoke with a rep who told me that even though the account was 4 years old, I could pay them directly. He told me once it was paid, it would be recalled from the collection agency. I made the payment. A few days later, my credit score went up slightly, but not as much as when it dropped. I checked my experian report and the debt was updated to paid. I called the collection agency and asked when it would be removed. They told me they would only remove it if comcast advised them to or told them it was in error. I've have been going back and forth with comcast and this collection company for a week now. I want to find out if there is anyway I can get it removed. Has anyone had experience with EAS? It shows paid in full, I have disputed it with experian but it was just updated, not removed. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau, and EAS only sent me a comcast bill in the mail. Should I plead my case to a supervisor at EAS? I've spoken to a few supervisors at comcast. They all tell me something different.  Thanks in advance.

Re: Comcast/ Eastern Account Systems

congrats on getting all those collections removed!!!!

i had the same issue with comcast/eas. gave up for a while and one day just sent a GW to EAS's info email. a few days later it was removed.

if comcast recalled the debt and you paid them, eas should't be able to verify the debt. i don't have too much experience with DV letters, so hopefully someone else could advise on that.

good luck with them!

Thank you for replying. How long did you wait before sending the GW? How long ago was your situation?  I just got off the phone with a comcast rep and he asssured me that it would be deleted in 30 days. I maked sure I clarified it would not just be updated. He indcated it would be deleted and said he would send me a letter indicating this. I hope that is the case. I will update if it happens. I also called EAS and further explained the situation. She told me there was nothing she could do.

You need to be directing your efforts to the OC Comcast and complaints should be  filed against them, its obvious Comcast did not recall or request they delete I would be sending a letter to the CEO of Comcast indicating what they agreed to and I will tell you they cant force the CA to delete anything only recommend but if the CA values the relationship with Comcast they should comply with a request for removal from Comcast. The CA is within their rights to be doing what they are doing, Good luck Smiley Happy

Re: Comcast/ Eastern Account Systems

Thank you for replying. I am going to wait until the middle of next month before I do anything else. If it's not off of my report by then, I will take further action with Comcast.

no prob! the collection was from 2010 and paid shortly after. i tried over the phone in nov 2014 and had the same back and forth. comcast could not find my name in their system and eas couldn't do anything until they heard from comcast. i was running in circles!

eventually i went on the eas site and sent them an email gw. a few days later i looked at EX and it was gone. comcast was a whole other mess but i eventually got them deleted as well.

did they say they would have their reporting removed or both theirs and eas? i would wait the 30 days and if its not deleted try to gw EAS and/or send a complaint to comcast

Re: Comcast/ Eastern Account Systems

Oh ok. I'm going to wait the 30 days. Comcast doesn't show up on my report. It never has. EAS showed up earlier this month and I paid it the day it reported.
