I was able to negotiate a 60% discount on 5 charged off accounts with PRA. The agreements state that the accounts will be settled in full after making 18 payments on each account with the amounst varying from $11 to $16 each. The accounts were all paid as agreed 6 months ago. PRA promptly removed the accounts from my TU account, but not EQ or EX.
I received notifcation from FICO, Wallethub and Credit Karma that these accounts were removed over a period of about 2 weeks. Earlier this month, Those 5 settled accoiunts were added back on to my CR's.; thereby dropping my scores by 45 to 55 points each.
What recourse do you think I should pursue against either the CRA and PRA or both, for violating the settlement agreements. PRA has begun to send new collection notices on the accounts that were settled with a remaining balance showing and asking to contact them to discuss payment terms.
I have been contemplating contacting an attorney to see if any would be willing to file suit against PRA and to seek compensatory and punitive damages way beyond what is owed.
Appreciate any feedback, recommendations, or suggestions.
Get any of it in writting on the settlement agreement and also them removing it from your CRA. Doubtful about the removal from CRA's, but hopefully you got other settlement in writting and considered settled.
Call PRA and explain it. Tell them on your website it states:
"Our policy is that within approximately 30 days of your final payment successfully posting, we will request the credit reporting agencies delete the Portfolio Recovery Associates, LLC tradeline related to your account from your credit bureau report. We do not control the timing within which the credit reporting agencies process our requests. For further assistance pertaining to your credit report, please contact the credit reporting agencies."
Why was it placed back on my reports.

I don't see why they would have added them back unless it was a mistake or you didn't uphold your end of the settlement agreement. Unless you actually haven't finished the settlement agreement, which means they're still allowed to report
just call them and ask them to remove it?
hey,
I settled in full and followed the agreement we made, why are these reporting again if they were settled in full? Per the agreement and y'alls policy, it should have been removed?
