Hey everyone, just wanted to share my experience with Credit One. The account opened last year in April, and when pandemic, hit really bad, i went overseas for a few months, and missed the July 2020 payment. I could not log on to the site because most financial companies ban ip addresses from certain countries, or that is what i think has happened. I have no other late payments on this card, but i did go over limit few times, and always had high balance at the statement closing date. Last night after reading a few posts here, i decided to send an email to the CEO and the Vice President. Explained them how i like using the card and appreciate them being the only one throwing me a life line when i needed to start rebuilding my credit. Explained why the late payment happened, and that since then never had a late payment, and it is the only late payment on the few accounts that i have since last year. An hour ago, a very nice lady called me from the executive office and said they received my request and that she was happy to let me know that the late payment has been removed. Funny thing, i was overlimit when i emailed them. Everyone on this board says Credit One is very easy to work with, and they are very forgiving. So this is another proof that it is true... Just wanted to share it with you guys.
Congrats! Yes they seem to be somewhat forgiving at times. They never want to lose you. The stories on people trying to cancel can be a pain. Now get your over limit way down. ![]()
Thanks,
i already did, did an express payment last night and paid in full, i don't know what came over me that i did not give this card the priority that it deserves. The over limit was due to Verizon paying the bill from the back up card rather then the first one. I had just updated it, but i was a little late i guess, and the payment went to Credit one. Either way, i am very happy with them so far. my background as far as credit:
2015 April: $500 secured card, some baddies, and mid 500 scores
2016 April: $85,000 in unsecured credit, mortgage approval, 700 - 725 scores
Mid 2016 i had a life changing event happen and everything went down hill from there. Just because i was late for one month on a few cards, everyone started slashing limits, balance chasing and eventually closing accounts.
So.... 2021 August, starting all over again.
