Hello, new here.
I was pre-approved for credit One. They sent me a letter and a code and everything.
I understand the difference between pre-approved and pre-qualification but it literally says on their website when you put the approval code in, to accept this offer.
Well as some of you might imagine, it was declined.
That's a hard pull.
Nothing on my reports changed from the time they sent me the pre-approval to the time I applied.
Anyone else ever have that happen.
I haven't had that happen, and I'm sorry that happened, but a prequalification/pre-approval is not a guarantee. It's also not a bait and switch.
Also, you dont know when they initially SP'd your reports to generate this offer. It very well may have been using a pull from months ago.
I have credit one both the 250 regular card..their entry level and now their wander card 800 no AF. awesome company because i never paid them from 2015 debt and they still let me in years later. the original debt with them was the same 250 dollar card.
just keep trying. probably just wasn't your time. respect credit one and they will reward you!
Thanks to all who responded. I'm just kicking myself that I pulled the trigger on that one and wasted the hard pull. I know these pre-approvals are not a guarantee but it clearly said except this offer and if it wasn't up to date it should have listed a time frame to respond. I still think it's a bait and switch.

I'm pretty sure it DID have an expiration date. They always do:

Was that for me? I don't/didn't apply for a Credit One card. That was just an image I found on Google.
I never got a letter. I just was looking at their website and you can see if there is a pre-approval code waiting for you. There is.
But there is no applied by this date associated with it. All it says is accept this offer and finish the application.
Again no apply by certain date on the website.
That is misleading.
