I am not sure if this belongs here or in the BK section, please feel free to move if so.
I had two accounts that were not included in a BK (at least 1 I know for sure) from almost ten years ago. One of the accounts I did not owe anything on so I don't know if my lawyer put in my case and the other account I don't remember.
I recently defaulted on these accounts (kept open through BK) last year and racked up 120+ lates on accounts. I got a call from a collection place recently letting my know I had filed a BK and the account would no longer have any collection against it. Which I thought was odd so many years later but not after I defaulted on it.
Someone suggested I dispute the accounts as included in my BK, well I just got a response from Experian back and the accounts were updated as discharged in BK and all my history (including my lates) back to when I last had a good record were deleted. So now it shows 'never late' in my dischage status as well.
Is this supposed to happen? Is having 30/60/90/120 lates worse or better than showing the account as never late but included in BK? Also how does this work since it's been almost 10 years after I filed (and defaults were after my BK)?
Genuinely confused here.
