I love seeing a score increase first thing in the morning. Recieved an alert from freecreditreport.com this morning. Logged in to check and the $297 that I paid to First Premier through a Collections Agency on Sept 21st has been updated. The account is no longer showing as a baddie on my report and is actually showing up with a big check mark next to it. My score went from a 632 to a 674 on EX. Now I'm just hoping that it does the same thing on TU and EQ. All I am waiting on now is for my other baddie that I paid for to update as paid even though it is set to fall off in December of this year. I have read many times that paying a old debt/charge off/collection does not increase your score. I did not GW First Premier either which has me curious as to why it's not still showing up with the dreaded X next to it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining at all, just curious.
Similar thing happened to me lately! In the last month I've had the following unexplained things happen: 2 lates fell off auto loan from 4 years ago, a CA deleted the account after I paid, and a CO mysteriously dissapeared! I chalk it up to blessings!Congrats on the increase, although you did say EX on freecreditreport.com...FAKO right? I hope your FICO is the same!
Yes, it was from freecreditreport for my EX. Do you know if they usually differ much between the FICO? Does FICO pull from the 3 CRA's? I'm still learning the ropes on all of this to be honest. I started repairing my credit a little over a month ago. When I checked my reports then I was at EX 632 EQ 632 and TU 602.
Unfortunately it is a FAKO. You can't get an Experian FICO except from an actual lender pull or a couple select credit unions. But congrats! That's always nice to see an increase, no matter where!
Yes, the numbers can differ A LOT! For instance, currently my Equifax FICO (from this site) is 652. This is the same score a lender would pull. But my Equifax FAKO is 596. From USAA's monitoring service. Another example is Experian 639 (Lender pull-one of the only ways to get your EX FICO) Yet the EX FAKOS I have are 622 from CreditKarma and 602 from USAA. The numbers can go either way. I suggest using fcr.com to monitor your reports but ignore the scores. No lender uses them. Welcome to MyFico!
