So I am trying to catch up to all of my debts and this one slipped away from CreditOne, now they've sold it off to a company called Global Credit and Collection.
I got a voicemail last night, called this morning and I owe $1800 of charge off debt. The guy negoitated over the phone and was willing to settle for $1300 and it would be marked as settled. I said pay for delete but he didn't counter, I asked him to send me a letter and I will consider it.
I have read on this forum that CreditOne usually sells off debt to Midland? If I pay off this debt, who would I contact to goodwill a delete on my credit report?
Are you sure it was sold off? What do your reports say? It could be Credit One just hired a CA to collect for them, but they still retain ownership of it.
My credit reports have not said anything yet, they just started calling yesterday. The next report update is in 8 days, I'll check annualcreditreport.com and see if it's reported on any of the 3.
So should I negoitate with CreditOne then?

If the collection isn't on your credit report, then there's nothing for the collection agency to delete. You just have to make sure they won't add the account to your report. Which would be unusual, in my opinion, but it never hurts to be safe.
You could try to pay CreditOne and ask them to recall the collection. But they may or may not accept payment at this stage. As far as CreditOne deleting their charged off trade line, I would say that's unlikely at best. You could try a goodwill letter after the account is paid, but I wouldn't count on that deletion.

If they havent reported yet, you do not need a PFD (pay for delete) just a PNR (Pay and not report). As mentioned abive - there is nothing to delete and paying or making a PFD arrangement with a CA will never delete the original chargeoff. And original creditors very rarely do PFD.
Once agreed and done, you can absolutely GW Credit One. They are very receptive to GW requests.
