So as advertised, Discover graduated my $200 secured card today, 3 days after my 7th statement cut. They are returning my $200 deposit and gave me a nice $1800 CL. This was such a nice surprise and I had my fingers crossed that it wouldn't be more of the same $500 CL nonsense.
After 11 months of hyper focus on my credit i've been able to raise my scores from the 580s to the 680s and finally making some progress with the cards and CLs!
Just wanted to share for anyone on the fence whether to build with the Discover secured card, this is my full stamp and cosign that it is as good as advertised but also a vote of confidence for all my rebuilders that it can be done and it is possible and to keep chugging along. Slow and steady wins the race and anything worth having takes hard work, patience and dedication. I've made huge strides with the purchase of my home this year as well and still have so much work left to be done. Let's get it! 🙌🏽 #KeepGrinding

@nelson_xxiiiCongrats to the OP on the CLI and I'm in that same boat of having a secured discover graduate. Mine graduated late June 2022 and also went to $1800. The card definitely can grow, but Discover likes to see usage and reported balances. I tried and failed several times to get a CLI after it became unsecured. Although they kept saying insufficient experience with current limit, I think it was probably insufficient usage. I was giving the card fairly light usage and not letting it report a balance, so I let a $500 balance report to see if that would help. Failed right after that, but then tried again as soon as Discover did their next account review and was approved for a $500 CLI. Discover does these every few months and it looks like they use the data from your last AR whenever you make a CLI request.
@Rebuild2019- I see another similarity with your profile as well as I had a QS1 too (started my rebuild with a secured Discover and a QS1 was my next card).
