Re: Dispute a derog

Someone owns the account. I would call back and verify. When you paid, who did you pay?

Re: Dispute a derog

Did you pay convergent?

If not, who did you make the payment to?

If you paid convergent, that discharged the debt and terminated their collection authority.

There is thus no longer any delinquent debt that is owned by anyone.

CRA reporting policy instructs debt collectors not to delete based on payment of the debt, so sending such a request to the CRA would be requesting they delete for a reason directly contrary to their published policy.

The only requirement to delete a collection is the CRA policy that a debt collector delete their collection if their collection authority is termnated with the debt remaining unpaid.  By paying the debt, that policy would no longer apply.

As for a dispute, you must assert some reporting inaccuracy in order to dispute with the CRA.

That does not appear to be the case.....

I understand they just won't say who owned the debt when i paid ...and it was to convergent.
