Disputed items are coming back as 'validated' please help!

This is my first time posting with this forum but I have read many messages and they have all been helpful. I recently disputed two accounts with the three credit bureaus that were listing a late payment (one from 6 months ago and another from almost three years ago). Both of these were wrong and when I sent the dispute letters to the bureaus they came back with "this information was validated". What do I do now? I don't know how to fix this. How could they have 'validated' something that was wrong? Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!!

I would avoid disputing if the account is still open and good. I would get in touch with the CCC and show them that you paid on time via a cancelled check, bank statement, etc.
