Disputing FPB

So I have tried in the past to get this gone, here on my recent 3B pull I have noticed some differences by how its reported.

EX: Shows that my first 30D was in October of 14'

Went 30/60/90/120/120

With Failure to Pay in March and April 2015

EQ: Shows that my first 30D was in October of 14'

Went 30/60/90/120/120

unlike EX March and April shows being on time

TU: has absolutely no payment info at all

Do I have much of a case for CRA deletion or should I just wait the 2 years for it to fall off on its own?

It wont be deleted.  It would just be updated with "valid" info which may or may not be accurate again.

Re: Disputing FPB

A dispute requires that the CRA conduct a reasonable reinvestigation, which includes forwarding of a copy of the dispute to the furnisher for their investigation and response back to the CRA.

If information is found to be inaccurate or incomplete, the furnisher and CRA always have the option of correcting the inaccuracy or incompleteness without any requirement to delete.

Deletion of the disputed item of information is only required if the accuracy or completeness cannot be verified or corrected.

The CRA will either verify the accuracy as reported or correct in a manner so as to overcome any found inaccuracy.

The FCRA is not intended to impose a penalty on furnishers for having initially reported inaccurate information by mandating deletion of the information.  The goal is to correct accuracy, not mandate removal of accurate information.

No, a dispute will not result in CRA removal.

In the specific case of inaccurate or incomplete payment history profile, a common outcome is that the creditor will then update their reporting to show each and every monthly derog with each CRA, thus adding derogs.

That outcome may not be what is sought, and consumers are often wary of disputing incomplete payment history profile reporting.

Your call.....

Thanks for the advice, sounds like it would be better just to let it fall off on its own. It won't be to much longer, it comes off 08/2021
