So back in 2000 I believe 17, I bought a new 2015 golf TDI diesel. Hi finance it through Volkswagen credit and in 2020, hi had some personal issues and got behind on it.
it ended up reporting a 30 and 60 day late on my credit which is bad, but it also is currently showing as a charge off. The only thing is that it was not charged off or repossessed. I have since paid it off in full. I don't think that it is damaging my credit terribly, because I did trade it in a few months later on a new Toyota Camry and qualified for 1.9% through Toyota financial even though it was showing as the charge off at that point. Granted, it shows as a paid charge off for $20,000. Rather than poking the Bear, am I possibly able to get a goodwill deletion since I paid it off immediately after I got through my bad spot? Or should I just leave it alone since they have not reported anything on it since changing it to a zero balance paid charge off in February 2020? Hi believe that a charged off car account would be a repossession, they did tell me that it was "out for a repo, but it was sitting in my driveway perfectly accessible to anyone for about three months and never once did I Seney thing like a tow truck. Anyway, I had the car in my possession at all times and it is paid in full, not settled. What should I do? I am inclined to think I should just wait it out for the next Six years, but I want to buy a house this year so I think I need to get as much stuff cleaned up as I possibly can, without potential he re-aging things?
