Had an unpaid collection on Experian for $90. It was really my ex-husbands and was due to fall off July 1st. I had disputed it 6 months ago. EQ and TU deleted it. EX came back verified. I called them today on a whim because Monday I am apping for a mortgage and asked them when it would be deleted. I explained it wasn't mine and therefore the company wouldn't talk with me (all true) and because of the age I was opting not to deal with it but was curious as to when it would fall off. She put me on hold and came back and said "It's taken care of. I have it deleted." I thanked her and told her I hope she had a great weekend. Received an e-mail of the change, logged on Experians dispute page and saw it has been removed. SCORE!!!!
No idea what it will do to my score. I don't think it will really make a difference anyways. It was 6 years 10 months old.
Going into a mortgage app on Monday with a perfect EQ and TU report. EX still shows two paid medical bills from 2010. They were told from both the courts and hospital to remove them. Collection agency is uncooperative so I took it to court and won. Even with the court order EX won't delete without direct notification from CO and they aer being a**ess. At this point I don't care. Two paid collections from 3 years ago is not going to kill any deal with the other two reports perfect.
Way to go--big congratulations to you! I'm hoping for success on my final two baddies. One unpaid collection and state tax lien to go!
