I've been working for what seems like forever to get my credit profile in shape. I woke up this morning to see that I've FINALLY reached the 700 mark with all 3 CRA's.
Now, here's where I need your help. While my Exp FICO is 723 and my TU is 721, me EQ is 701. I know exactly why and remember when they placed an update on my account after me asking them to correct the DOFD. I got a notification stating that my FICO had dropped 17 points and the update showed the DOFD added. HOWEVER, they also added under date reported : October 28, 2020. The account was PIF after settled for less, on 10/10/2018. Both the CRA's have last update as Oct of 2018. Equifax's report makes this account look like it was new as of 10/28/20.
Does this look correct to you? Should I request that they correct it? This is the ONLY derog on my reports now and it's killing me. I've posted a copy of the account from EQ in the comments.
@Sadie5150 I don't see anything posted below?! But also I do know (not sure if this helps) But EQ was the hardest/Longest to turn around when I was correcting issues as well with the others taking around a month EQ took a little over 3 months to resolve the same information so honestly I don't know anyone who their favorite is EQ Lmao. If they started the clock on you and the others fall off I would see if they would Remove it (did you get a formal notice mail or email stating they would remove from all 3?!)

I'm not a tech person at all..
. I can't get the file to load on page. Saying it's too big. I shrink it. Still too small. I take a screen shot, same thing.
It's turning out to be a frustrating morning.. lol
Hi.. I wasn't requesting they delete. Only to correct the DOFD.. when they did that, they added a date reported of 10/28/21. It updated and makes it look newer.

1M file size is the limit for this board, you can use something like Paint (in Windows) to shrink size down to where it needs to be, usually 25% of original size is around the sweet spot.
@Sadie5150 Hahaha I understand you there for sure! *sips coffee* LOL. Ok if you reach out to them to correct an issue/amount they can restart the clock so to speak so I would see/check with others here to see if there is anything you can do to get it off or re-correct it since they can restart it unfortunately ![]()

EQ often does this after disputing a derog that results in any type of update to the tradeline. It's technically correct- as the lender likely provided an update to all info pertaining to the account - including its status, making the 'reported date' the date of the last update.
So long as your dofd is now accurately recorded, I'd recommend leaving it alone. The sting will lessen as time goes by and EQ will catch up to your other two eventually. Attempts to get them the revert to the 2018 date will likely fail and cause additional updates to the tradeline.

@thornback Thank you. I was hoping you would see this and chime in . As much as I wish this would just go away, I guess I'll just wait it out.

Maybe you're just not wishing hard enough, Sadie!!! 🙃
YW. These things happen (and is why we say not to dispute accurate information-- in your case tho, you had no choice). It's a minor score setback but, take a breath, try not to stress over it- just keep doing what you need to do and let time do its part.

No absolutely not. It's not your fault that they screwed up on the DOFD, which required later correction. You should not be penalized by a later date of update.
You're not the first person this is happened to. And it has been corrected and can be corrected. You are absolutely right that's causing that to appear as a recent derogatory as opposed to a mature derogatory and is therefore costing you more points. I would seek to have it corrected though you have to be careful with EQ.
