False Information from SST/Medallion Bank

Hello,

I am in the process of bouncing back and thanks to your help, I am well on my way.  I am having an issue with Medallion Bank.  I have a travel trailer (RV) loan with them.  Back in January 2020, my account was 120 days late.  They were reporting such as well on my credit reports.  On 1/21/20, I called and was able to make a large payment (the 4 months I was behind) and got my account current.  The person I spoke to actually said they were in the process of attempting to repossess the trailer.  She said that once the payment clears they would call off the repo.  Then, on my next credit reports from all the bureaus, it shows that account as Charged-Off for the entire balance owed.  Every monthly update since then is still showing a charged off status, even including this month (May 2020).  I have made every payment on time since bringing the account current back in January.  I have my normal online account access as well as I receive normal statements in the mail.  I first tried calling them every day for a week back in early April.  I explained my concerns and was told that needs to be handled by the "credit disputes" department.  Somehow, nobody in that department is every available and I get sent to a voice mailbox.  I have never received a call back.  So, this lead me to believe I would need to take this up with the credit bureaus via the dispute process.  I then filed a dispute with all 3 bureaus claiming that the information from 1/2020 is not accurate.  Within 10 days or so, all 3 bureaus completed their investigation with information being accurate.  That obviously means that someone within Medallion bank is reponding to the disputes....

So, my questions are:

1)  Can my account still be charged-off and the information they are reporting to the bureaus be accurate?  I did not think so, given that I brought it current.  I do believe it might have been charged-off at the time I brought it current.

2)  If my account is current and the information is incorrect on my reports, what are the next steps I should take to get the information recorded correctly and not showing charged-off, just the late payments.

Thank you!

hmm hopefully someone can chime in, but I am wondering if it is indeed charged off and even with your making payments, you are just making payments on a CO'd account now? So technically, it would be correct reporting and will be a paid CO once you finish paying it off. I really hope that isn't the case!

Good luck!

Re: False Information from SST/Medallion Bank

Found this old thread, looks like I might be in a bad spot.  According to this thread, it is correctly being reported.  Smiley Sad

Sounds like they got what they wanted. Back payments. And the CO was entered to the CRA's and then they contacted the repo man at the same time. Since you made the payment that halted the repo man and like @Anonymous said. Your paying your debt on the CO. Could be a fine line or an opening in there for a FRCA lawyer.

So I wanted to share this:

My SO had a auto loan with WF several years back and things got rocky. They were going to repo, but he paid enough to keep the vehicle.

I was actually reviewing the account on his CRs and it made me think of you.

It is possible to pull it back from CO status. I would definitely talk to them about it for sure. I am certain that we didn't even know about the CO status or any CR changes as we didn't follow them much at the time.

Maybe your account will be restored, there is a chance!

Just a snap of the CR where is was 60d late and then CO and then we paid enough to keep the vehicle, but was still past due 30d the following month when we were catching back up on payments via the agreement with WF.

Not to get your hopes up, but I would either call and see about how they are planning on reporting in the future or just wait and see on your CRs.
