My question is this: should I try to get these charge offs removed? Or just let them be? I have hancock bank and they only use equifax for all of their loans, credit cards, etc. I just got a $7,200 line of credit from them yesterday, so if I need to get a loan, I'll just use them. If I do try to get these charge offs removed, how do I do it? I've sent letters and I always get back a letter wanting me to file a police report for identity theft. I sent a goodwill letter to first premier to see if they would delete, but that was a no go. I'm just confused about what to do. My wife says I'm ocd'ing over this. I've just done so much work to fix my credit, and if I quit, I I'll feel like a loser!!!! Anybody help??
For any OCs that you might want off, you first should compare their age in relation to your AAoA. If older than your AAoA, think twice. If among your oldest TLs, or your oldest of the TL-type (e.g. oldest revolving, oldest installment, etc.) then also thing twice. You could always ask in the GW to remove any lates or baddie references vs. deletion. If unpaid, then send PFDs. If the oldest TLs, then PIF and ask them to remove any lates or comments via a GW at a later date.
If they say no, then keep trying. It very rarely happens on the first or second try. I had a PVerizon Wireless CO, for example. I sent over 100 PFDs (no joke) before they relented. The "no's" never mattered to me. If you are sending PFDs and they respond w/ a request for a police report, then it could be that they are misreading the PFDs. In the example on these forums, the word "DISPUTE" is enhanced and capitalized. Sometimes they see that above all else and think you are disputing vs. asking for a PFD. I reworded my PFDs to eliminate the timed requirement and made it more friendly. IMO, a PFD is a GW for unpaid debt.
Im just gonna keep trying!! Thank you for responding!!
