Please no rude answers... I had a charge card with Fingerhut with a $700 limit that I opened in June 2018. I experienced difficulties making timely payments, and by mid-2018, the account had multiple late payments—30, 60, and 90 days past due. Eventually, the account was charged off in September 2019 for $270. The account is now closed, and my last payment was in March 2019.
I recently contacted Fingerhut to discuss this account. I asked about the possibility of a goodwill adjustment, but I was informed that they must follow the law. I requested to speak with a supervisor, but none were available at the time.
Since this account is over seven years old.. There is nothing else I can do right...
You could pay the $270.
If it's seven years old, it should drop off. Did the March 2019 payment being it current? The seven years starts when it most recently became delinquent. If that's been seven years, you can dispute it.
It states that Balance was updated on September 7th, 2019. The date opened was June 3rd 2018...
The reality is there's mostly a zero chance Figerhut grants a goodwill deletion.
The good news is the 7 year clock starts based on the DOFD (date of first default) that led to the charge off. That would be the May 30 day late. You should actually be within the window for EE (early exclusion) for TransUnion (6 months early). Experian will do 3 months early, and Equifax is 30 days.
Welcome to the forum.

Is that simply because there are few to no data points suggesting that Fingerhut does?
Never seen a GW from FH in the over 10 yrs Ive been here.
May, 2026, will be the 7 year mark, so expect this to fall off by June?
