Fingerhut knocked me down 35 points DISCOURAGED

I decided to get a fingerhut account and got approved for $300 unsecured credit line. Heard great things about them when it comes to rebuilding but that inquiry knocked me down 35 points on EQ 11 points on EX, TU have not reported But it is very discouraging. I purchased a hair steamer and a space heater will be paid off in two installments so I am sure I will get my 35 points back well I hope I do.

You'll get the points back. Depending on your credit profile might get more than you lost. After my 14 HP I've gotten more back than I lost after they reported.

It was not the inquiry that knocked you down, it was a combination of several factors. The inquiry simply triggered the score recalculation. MyFICO's alerts can be very misleading in that way.
