I just noticed that I got a 30-day late payment for my car loan payment to GM Financial in June. I since paid 2 months and caught up.
However, I was *thinking* that I was paying the car loan ahead of time, and the way their app showed me, I figured I could skip a month and get on the regular 30-day cycle -- I sure was wrong
Is there anything I can do to request for this to be deleted? Goodwill or.
Good morning, again!
Call them. If you have a good, solid payment history with them and this is your first hiccup, just call them and explain the situation and ask them if they can remove the 30-day late. This could VERY EASLY be why your FICO Score is not what you might like it to be. I do not have any experience with this or with GM but I would hope that they would be understanding about this. And if you get someone on the phone who is not so kind, stay patient and kind with them, but get off that call as soon as possible and call an hour or two later. Hopefully that second person will be more kind. I find that I typically need to speak with four people before I finally get someone who knows what they are doing and is more understanding.
I would call them and explain that it was an honest mistake on your part. I would think they would side with you.
Keep us informed of the outcome
Thanks for the post
Mark
Try the phone call first if that fails a goodwill letter request to the office of the President or CEO would be in order
Thanks everyone, will send a GW letter and post progress
When making 'extra' payments, the extra always goes to the principle at the end of the loan and not to the next payment due.
