Getting negative items deleted

I have recently been disputing many if the negative accounts from my credit reports and have surprisingly had some good luck. I was able to get two collection accounts deleted from my experian report, and my question is if experian deletes them do the other CBs have to delete them as well? If so what actions do I need to take or will it happen automatically? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: Getting negative items deleted

The EX deletion will not affect what is reported on EQ or TU if the deletion was as a result of a dispute directly with the CRA (the CRA's don't report to "each other").  However, a Direct Dispute with the OC, that results in a deletion on one of the CRA's, should be reflected on all 3.  That process can take as many as 45 days.

Re: Getting negative items deleted

The FCRA does not place responsibility on the CRAs to report the outcome of a dispute filed with them to the other CRAs, it places the responsibility on the furnisher of the disputed information to notify the other CRAs if, as a result of a dispute filed with one CRA, they determine that their reporting was inaccurate, and delete for that reason.

They are then required to also notify all CRAs to which they have reported the information the same outcome.  See FCRA 623(b)(1)(D).

It is not necessary to file separate disputes with each CRA, providing the furnisher follows through on its statutory obligation to report the results of your dispute to all CRAs.

I would begin by calling them,  reminding them of their obligation under FCRA 623(b)(1)(D), and giving them a normal reporting period to do so.

I would reserve any additional disputes if you cant first resolve informally.
