Graduating to the BrightWay+

I wanted to let everyone know what happened to me when I graduated from the BrightWay card with OneMain. When I received my BrightWay credit card with a low cl I started working for the no annual BrightWay+ card. Every 6 on time payments resulted in being offered a credit limit increase or discounted interest rate. Additionally, it would get you closer to getting the BrightWay+ card. It takes 2 years of on time payments to graduate.

So I finally graduated to the BrightWay+ in December of this year and that so happens to be when my annual fee will be due. I called before this happened and I was told to call back when it graduates after explaining why I was calling multiple times. So the card graduates and there is an annual fee on the account.

So I called and the rep told me that I will have to pay it. But I asked why would I have to pay an annual fee with a no annual fee card? He kept saying I have to pay it. So I had to get a manager on the phone and he told me the same thing and told me that not even a manager like him could refund an annual fee. But he offered to pass on my call to the hire ups and that was even difficult to get him to do it.

Why couldn't he understand why I would have to pay an annual fee when I have the no annual fee card this year. I already paid the annual fee TWICE and I checked that, so it's always charged for the coming year. He told me it could be X amount of days before I heard back. Well the very next day the annual fee was reversed! LOL They didn't even contact me, they obviously could understand me. So if you happen to get that annual fee at the same time you graduate, call them to get a refund!
