I have read bits and pieces of the HIPAA steps could some provide the link or directions on how this works.
Someone from another credit-related forum claimed that we were using their information in an unauthorized manner. While we strongly disagree with this claim, we decided to discontinue the Recovering from Medical Debt board rather than get involved in a long and unproductive dispute over this material. We've also discontinued posting links to the letters, templates, etc.
The best advice I can give you, at this point, would be to search through the forum for past situations that are similar that may help you and/or visit the government's website regarding HIPAA.

Thanks I have found some of the information, but what exactly is the letter suppose to say. Every link I have looked at says 'page not found',
Any help is appreciated. And is this process for anybody with a medical collection.
My second question is about the opt out. That confused me. If I do the opt out, in 6 months if I want to purchase a home will they be able to pull my credit.
Thanks

Opt-ing out won't impact you at mortgage time.
The HIPAA process is for paid or PIF medical collections.
When dealing with medical collections do not contact the CA. Any payment due should be made to the OC using the restrictive endorsement.
