HIPPA Letter

So I sent off HIPPA letter #1 and they sent back verified and everything. (Only sent to Equifax as it was the only one it was appearing on.) Im a bit confused as to which letter I send now? This debt was from a dentist whom I paid (I paid the dentist) and it is showing up on Equifax as a paid collection. Which letter should I be sending and to whom now? Thanks

Re: HIPPA Letter

Well, it was a collection and you did pay it so it is technically accurate what is reporting on your credit report.  I'm doubtful the CRA will delete it but you could contact the dentist since the dentist is the OC who reported it and ask him/her to have it deleted.

I think I disputed once or twice with the CRAs to no avail and have since begun to only dispute with the OC.  I was able to get a few things that were inaccurate removed or updated that way.

Re: HIPPA Letter

Follow the medical collections sticky. Otherwise known as the HIPPA process..

Re: HIPPA Letter

Send this letter to the OC using insert "B", paid, CMRRR.

Once you receive the green card from the HIPAA letter, send this follow-up dispute letter to the CRA CMRRR.
