I did a PFD with a CA. They agreed via settlement letter to REMOVE the account. But that was two weeks ago and it's been "verified" by the bureaus...
So i sent the settlement letter and EX came back and said they can't use it. I guess because photo shop and crap like that....so they said they would "investigate"....TU has not responded as of yet. But it's not the bureaus responsibility to REMOVE the account, it is the CA...
All of my other collections fell off within FIVE days....with no issues....i can't believe it takes a month for a collection to go away....
Did your PFD agreement specify a timeframe for the removal of the collection, by chance...? Your PFD letter is signed?
While the deletion can be faster, they may delete in a monthly batch job, in which case you might need to give it 30 to 45 days.
HEy Lil Mirth,
My Settlement letter was SIGNED. I can't understand why it isn't gone in two weeks...TU and EX "verified" it and that it stays. Even with a signed settlement letter. The CRA's are not obligated to remove TL's I guess.
So I will give it 45 days before I follow up again...I just really smelled something fishy with this particular JDB - they were updating my account daily (I pull TC daily) with a balance due one day, still in collections, dates were changed, amounts changed. Then I filed a complaint with the BBB and provided them the evidence - the settlement letter, the reporting of the account, amounts changes, etc. Sounds like they probably violated the FCRA? I would think so.... Sure enough both reports have indicated it is paid and closed now....after they rec'd the complaint.
