I've tried using it and failed. Here is the issue: it seems to only let me check my checking or savings accounts, yet almost all of my qualified bills are charged automatically to my Citi Double Cash card. So the Boost scan says it never finds anything? Anything I can do? I'd love a small bump in FICO
I have done this but let it stop. Like you, it wanted bank account, but I believe I was able to add my credit cards. You can call Member Services; Experian is one of those rare places right now that lets you actually speak to a person. TBH tho, it never really boosted anything; kind of felt it was a bit invasive as well, looking at my accounts for info. It also took 2 billing periods to kick in, and like I said, never saw any benefit
I was able to use it as I pay my bills with my checking account. Boosted my score 32 points. It boosted my wifes score over 40 points. Not bad.
I appreciate the response. I know it's not super important right now, but it's possible I will be mortgage hunting in a few months, so every bit helps. Which number did I call? Or is there a simple email option? I know I could try Twitter worst can scenario haha.
One last question in case you know - if I believe a late payment reported years ago is inaccurate, they stay on for like 7 years right? If I file a dispute or 2 are there potentially negative consequences? It's possible I was late with this one account, but it would've been the sole late payment on a month out of 9 years

Yeah I would love that! Sadly I'm unlikely to see such boosts. I don't pay electric, water, or have a mortgage. I do have a phone bill, but it's paid on credit card, not checking. Lastly, I could be wrong, but I don't think Experian Boosts checks if you pay car leases do they?

Just a heads up, most lenders don't count the boosted score and just use your regular, unboosted score. In addition, it appears Experian boost only helps your FICO 8, which isn't even the version mortgage lenders use.

God **bleep** the lenders are really wanting to see that bare bones lol in that case I'll turn it off. I believe if I leave it on they will see all my stuff

Yep, they want the real deal. No fluff.
Also, in my opinion, Experian boost is just a way to mine for more data and is way too invasive for me.
What I want to know is what triggers a large increase or decrease, say over 12-15 points, if nothing significant changes: no new inquiries, no new lines of credit, no nothing or missed payments
Hate to rain on the parade, but Experian Boost is simply a data mining tool for Experian to see into your entire financial life at the transaction level. Lenders can see both your "boosted" and real FICO scores, and ignore the 'boosted' score. Many mortgage lenders actually make you unenroll from it during the mortgage approval process. I know everyone loves to see that "boosted" score, but it is artificial. It is not your accurate FICO score, and lenders ignore it. If you're ok with allowing Experian into the lowest levels of your financial transactions in exchange for seeing a 'boosted' score that is artificially inflated and ignored by lenders, then by all means. My humble advice...unsubscribe as fast as you subscribed!
