How bad is a Repo??

How bad will this affect my credit.. my old car was in my dad names and mine but he currently has it. He has missed payments now its out for repo.. im so stressed out about the situation i feel like maybe they should just repo it. Problem is i know the car is in bad shape so i know i will be in the hole for  a while.. any advice??

I have a car right now so im not worried about getting another one anytime soon..  

Also they never did report to the credit agencies dont know if that makes a difference

Call them before they repo it. It is always better to discuss before than after. They may be able to work something out regarding pay arrangements. I learned the hard way. Now I am trying to GW to get the repo removed since we paid the vehicle off after we got it back from them.

A repo is one of the worst derogatories you can have on your CR.

How long ago did you get the car and when did he start missing payments?
