Re: How do I calculate AAoA?

I am jumping in to ask a quick question - since the longer the AAoA, the better... if I close a newer account, then it could theoritically improve my score, correct? (setting aside other factors like utilization ratio, total credit, etc)

Mid-2010 Starting Scores: FAKO EQ 476 FAKO EX 506 FICO TU98 575
July 2017 Current Scores: Approx 710 (waiting for official updates)

BTW, I have only one 60 day late on this account (from 2/2008) and three 30 days, the newest one being from Oct 2008.  Is it even worth it to get rid of this 2 year+ 60 day?

I think it is. Others might disagree. Even after 3 years it probably is still hurting you (impossible to know exactly how much) at least a little and I would attempt to GW it. Even those 30 day lates look bad to a potential creditor.

Just my 2 cents.

Just closing it will not change your AAoA or credit length history. This is explained in more detail here: Closing Credit Cards.

Well they are willing to just delete the entire TL.  I'd lose the the account history tho going back to 2006.  Still say go?

2/18/2010 - EQ: ??? TU: ??? EX: 509 (pulled by employer)
2/10/2011 - EQ: 586 TU: 601 EX: 549 (FAKO)

For me I would leave it alone to keep the TL. But I can't tell you how to handle this.  Smiley Happy

Re: How do I calculate AAoA?

Thanks.  I think I'm going to leave it alone.  Maybe try again later to GW the lates removed.  We'll see what happens.
