How does this GW letter sound?

Does this seem like the right path to take on GW letters?

Dear Sir or Ma'am,

I am writing this letter in order to request your help and understanding.  I am an active duty sailor in the United States Navy and my job requires that I maintain a security clearance.  As you may already know, good credit is one of the main requirements for security clearance eligibility.

Prior to enlisting in the military I was not always very financially responsible.  However, I have since made an about-face (I apologize for the military jargon) and have come to understand the importance of sound financial decision making.

I am concerned about the affect this credit entry will have on my ability to keep my security clearance.  The account is shown as “Paid” but still is a collection account.  I would like to request that your company have some mercy on me and please make a “Goodwill Adjustment” and remove the account from the credit reporting agencies(Equifax, Experian, Transunion) . Your kind gesture would be sincerely appreciated and would help ensure that I can keep serving our country as an Electronics Technician Second Class in the United States Navy. I would like to thank you in advance for any help you may provide. You may contact me through email at [email protected] .  Thank you again.

Sincerely,

XXXXXX

Re: How does this GW letter sound?

I like it. When ever I write GW letters I always make sure to include that I understand they have no obligation in deleting, that it was a problem of my own making, and that I've learned my lesson. It seems to work!

Anyways good luck!

Transunion: 713 FICO (5/13/2014) MyFico
Experian: 789 FICO (4/10/12) Lender Pull
Equifax: 695 FICO (1/10/14) MyFico

My cards: Chase United Mileage Plus 7000CL (3/12), CITI Simplicity 1800CL (9/12), Cap1 Platinum 1000CL (2/10), Cap1 Cash back 1500CL (11/11), Apple Barclay's 2500CL (11/11), Discover IT 6000CL (5/13)

My Primary Financial Goal is to put down my utl%.
