A CA that is not licensed in my state and therefore can not legally attempt to collect a debt from me can legally report on my credit file?

The debt is not even mine to begin with. They are not able to validate the debt for me BUT they can to experians satisfaction.

My state requires a collection agency be licensed/bonded.

1) Bonding/licensing is a state law.......EX doesn't care about it as it is regarding the CA not them

2) To verify with EX, the CA only needs to say that the information they are reporting is correct.

You need to file complaints with your AG, the BBB, and any licensing board your state has. You may need to contact the SoS.

Make sure that your state requires all CAs to be licensend/bonded and not just in state CAs.
