I'm trying to get my remaining lates off of my Macy's account and have been calling faxing, etc. about once every week and a half... too much or not enough? I assume since nothing has changed account-wise, the answer would be not enough, but is there a point where one can overdo it and suffer any repercussions?
Thanks!
I think it depends on how you view it. I tend to space my GWs to Once a month if I dont hear anything. Also depends on how old the the record is on your Credit reports, The older the account the less the damage and sometimes it might just be worth it to wait it out, I have two baddies that i have been sending GW letters to no avail and I will continue till they eventually fall of my report at the end of the year. Notwithstanding, I heard some people having success with Macys by sending an email to the customer service, and you should get a response from the credit customer service group, telling you to call them and you can plead your case over the phone. I am not sure if you have tried that approach. just in case you have not I have sent you a PM with the email address to Macy's customer service. Do let us know the outcome if you end up using it.
I have a similar question as the OP. Should I send GW letters to all the addresses I have at once (several for Cap One). Or send to one adress, wait for response, then send to another...
Thanks somotao, PM received, and email sent.... i'll be sure to followup if anything changes!
Hello Cloyd - I have had success with Macys in removing a 30-day late. But, this was 3 or 4 years ago. I used jigsaw to identify a specific person at macys.
It helps if you really grovel - you know, really apologize for any past errors and how much you enjoy shopping at Macys. It'll never happen again. I thought they were easy to deal with. It could also be due to the fact I have had an account with them for many years and only had 1 late.
By the way, there is no such thing as GW'ing. Send a GW, wait 30-45 days - and send again.
Good luck.
Packma92...I had several addresses for HSBC and I sent GW letters to all addresses at once. I did not receive a response from any of them. However a week or so later my experian and equifax credit reports were updated and the lates were removed. I am hoping that eventually the same update will apply to TU. So I would recommend that you send them all at once.
