complete scam! they have been calling me and my brother for years! they were sold my info from an online company that has recently been sued by the FTC. They have threatened with all kinds of stuff, throwing around legalese. Too bad Im not easily intimidated. I just ignore them, if you respond they will rev up their efforts. they profit from the fear. Lock your reports and keep on trucking.
SO....
I decided to screw with them some and disguise my voice and number.......
I called and said "hello, this is William J. Dunst attorney-at-law Representing BadCreditBen versus your accusations that he owns this debt"
As soon as I got that out, they hung up HAHAHAHAHHA!!!!

EXCELLENT ![]()
I wouldn't freak out about anyone having your info. A lot of us like to pretend that our social security numbers are "secret".
In all honesty, at least 5 to 10 different places RIGHT now have your social security, and these are just the ones you can remember giving permission to.
Your job has it, your credit cards have it, your lawyer has it, if you purchased a car, your LO will have it, your bank has it, etc, etc, etc...
I'd be a LOT more worried if they started reciting my bank account number, the routing number attached to it and my ATM pin number.
Haha! good one!
