I can't find an answer.  I've reworded my search at least 10 times and can't find any info.  Thanks to all you regulars who deal with answering the same old questions from us newbs.

When a CA comes up as numbers and letters on my scorewatch, such as...

Collection agency [?] 155yc19655 

...is there a way to figure out who the CA actually is other than getting a report from one of the CRA's?  I'd like to avoid paying for a credit report if possible.

You can use deductive reasoning. Whenever I hear this, I think medical. Do you know of any medical bills that might be haunting you? If you can't think of anything, then you are going to have to pull your full reports to get to the bottom of it.

No, no medical bills, but I think I may have come up with something.  I posted a new thread about it as I'm currently freaking out since I got the idea.  The OC was a bank.  I think someone stole old checks from a closed account from me!
