I think I blew it with DV...

*sigh*

I have been working so hard on my credit since November (EQ up from 595 to 666), and buggin' the heck out of you Mods by asking a million questions...(thank you so much...)

And I hate to ask another one and admit that I think I screwed up.

Here goes...I have a PAID Verizon/GTE acct on all three reports from 7/06. In the 12 PRE-HIPAA letters I sent on 2/24, I also sent a DV or GW to Verizon/GTE (can't remember which now because I sent too much at one time and cannot find my copy I made), and failed to CMRRR it in my focus on CMRRRing the CRA letters. Oh boy. Anyway, the acct was not marked disputed on my 3/21 CRs, but is on my new 4/4 CRs.

Can anyone please help me figure out how, if even possible, to fix this blunder? Should I send another DV CMRRR and use that 30 day window? My fear is if they do not validate, I have no proof I sent the letter, other than their notation on the CR. Maybe I should just start all over with them...

My lesson learned here is to take my time and not try to conquer everyone's letters in one fell swoop. I guess I just got so excited.  Smiley Sad

Thanks for any help you all can offer!

Re: I think I blew it with DV...

If a GW, it need not be sent CMRRR.

If a DV and you sent it to the OC....then they don't have to respond at all as DV's are for CAs, so it need not be sent CMRRR.

Oh...okay...I am really confused then!  Smiley Surprised

Thanks for setting me straight.

So I guess I could follow up with a GW letter (which must be what I sent, then).

And if they never respond, then that's my answer.

If by chance I sent a DV erroneously, have I really messed up?

Nope! Their recycle bin will simply take care of it.Smiley Happy

ETA: Actualy no. Seems like they are responding to your DV or GW by marking the a/c as being in dispute.

Re: I think I blew it with DV...

And, would that be a good thing for them to respond to my GW as a dispute?

How long should I wait before trying another GW?

Thanks!

Re: I think I blew it with DV...

Not necessarily.

It means though that they are considering your letter instead recycing it. Pretty soon its gonna say that the disputed reporting "Meets FCRA requirements". If it was a GW that you sent though, you've got to wait and see if they're gonna agree to it.

Re: I think I blew it with DV...

Thanks Nothinig & Sidewinder...will wait a couple more week. They should have rcvd the letter 2/27, so it's already been almost 45 days. Will give them till the end of this month, then send another.  Smiley Happy
