IF EX doesn't remove

Question.

The one and only baddie I have is this $40.00 for Cox that is being handled by I.C Systems apparently. I am disputing, I don't believe I owe it. EQ removed it within 10 business days, it was never on TU, and EX has until the 12th to deliver results of the dispute.

From what I've read, they will probably verify it, someway or somehow.

If they do, and don't delete, what should I do? I don't want to waste the time with fighting, we want to buy a home soon, and my scores are going up, but I need this resolved before we can move forward.

Should I pay it if they don't delete, and what will that do to my score? It would only affect my EX score, correct, since it has already been deleted from EQ and not on TU to begin with. (Which by the way, EQ and TU are my higher scores already)

In the event that you are unsuccessful removing the collection it really shouldn’t hurt you too much seeing as its only 40 bucks.. most banks wouldn’t wink at a little 40 charge off.. Granted, a charge off hurts your credit score.. but you can easily plead your case that its a dinky little 40.00 charge off that you tried to fight..

Goal: 700 and an Amex Card!

Re: IF EX doesn't remove

It's not showing as a charge-off, just a collection, but I wonder, if EX doesn't remove it, and if can get I.C Systems to do a PFD.

Keep going for the PFD, if that doesn't work.  Do it again.
