In regards to closed accounts

I have a few accounts that have been paid in full and closed for some time now. I have sent out GW letters to the CA...but is there any other route I can take? Would I be able to contact the original creditor and ask that THEY remove it? Or is it no longer in their hands?

Re: In regards to closed accounts

You should contact whoever is reporting it on your CR.  The CA can only remove or update their own collections, and the OC can update/remove their account if it is still reporting ~ even when an OC has sold an account they still retain the ownership/reporting of the original account tradeline.

Re: In regards to closed accounts

Smiley WinkCranking is RIGHT!!! LOL!!!!

I ACTUALLY MADE A LITTLE HEADWAY!

I called and spoke to one of the OC's and was told that he was currently sending an email to the collections dept. to have it removed off my report! He couldnt send me anything in writting as other department was the one responsible for taking it off the report, but he said to follow up with the CRA in about a week to make sure that it went through...He wasnt aware that I am a CR stalker and would be checking daily-LOL!

The other agency was a bit of a Mod Cut and said they wont remove it, well thats what the c/s rep told me...she was fully aware of my unrelenting obsession with getting these marks off my report...so off I go to write yet ANOTHER GW letter... if I cant get these remove, well I will so nevermind. I am "currentlywinning" afterall Smiley Wink

Re: In regards to closed accounts

Whenever I call, I never stop at the person who takes my call. Those are often first-tier CSRs with no authority to do anything even if they wanted to. I believe that the people who answer the phones are given scripts to respond a certain way to FAQs. When I hit a roadblock with Chase, the CSR said the same thing, "by law we're required to report accurately blah blah blah" so I said, "Okay, I would like to be transferred to your supervisor." When she transferred me, I explained my situation again and was able to convince her (even though she told me the same thing the first CSR said) to just put in a request to the credit reporting department to have my account reviewed and request a deletion. One of the mods here, Ilecs, said it best when he said to keep going up the chain. Everyone has a boss. He's right. Call them again today!

Re: In regards to closed accounts

Thanks esme!

So I just got off the phone with them (AGAIN) and she said that the President doesnt take calls!!! LOL Im like...ooookay.

I will give it a rest with the calls this week. I have however typed up a decent GW letter (if I must say so myself...derivitives of some I found here of course) and will be mailing that out today. If nothing else, they will just want to be done with me and take it off the report-LOL!

I live a few blocks from them...might even stop by and say hiSmiley Tongue

Im totally obsessed and I feel 7 years is a very long time even for my being negligent! I paid it in full...as soon as i saw it was on my report, why wouldnt they want to give me a break? Give us ALL a break for that matter!
