Contacted Quick Collect to see if they would do a PFD for two small accounts. The answer was no. I'll try again at some point.
But I noticed something. I got an alert saying my Experian had changed and it was regarding these two medical accounts. I looked I could see nothing different at all. No score change.
But today, I was looking at my updated TransUnion report.
These accounts went from "ND" to "KD" and there was a blank where it HAD showed past due. But NOW it shows $28.00 on one and $30 on the other?
What is that? It looks like they "assigned" me to a payment?
They are from late 2009 / early 2010. All data is ND. Now, with the initial contact, they updated this month to KD. That's key derogatory, correct?
I made NO payment nor any agreement to payment whatsoever.
What is this? More importantly, we're applying with a local lender for a VA mortgage next Friday. Right now TU is our best score at Fico 707 (which I know is not entirely accurate due to scoring model.) TU shows no score change at all. So is this just periphery? Or is there going to be an effect?
Yes, KD is key derogatory. It means the underlying account is a CO, collections, foreclosure etc.
If Quick Collect is a CA they cannot report any type of history.
As an interesting aside, I called both OCs today a bit in a flutter over these collections.
The first will take the payment directly. I asked them for a statement showing amount due and dates of service. They are mailing it to me today.
The second is no longer in business. So I'm assuming I can DV and dispute?
They are indeed a CA. So.... What does that mean exactly? They're doing something they ought not, but essentially what can I do? Just call and have that removed, yes?
They did it to both accounts.
I found one OC is willing to take payment - major hospital, bill less than $100.
The second, a dentist, there must have been an amount leftover after insurance, but she is no longer practicing in OR that I can find anywhere. Called old business number and it is disconnected.
If they are actually reporting late payments, then that is disputable because they cannot. Nor can they report late payments. You can't be late with a CA.
Is the OC also reporting or just the CA?
As for DV and disputing, if the CA can validate there would be nothing to dispute.
I'm a little lost here Guinness. When you say that a CA can't report any history do you mean that each month they can't report KD? I'm not exactly clear on what history they cannot report.

Same thing happened to me HopingforaMortgage. An unpaid collection account, that has been on my CR since July 2012 and never "update," finally does so when I paid the OC. On July 2012 it said ND then nothing for months and now this month it says KD.

KD goes in the payment history so, no, they cannot report that.
CA cannot report late payments, past due payments or history at all.
Thanks for clarification. If they can't record KD in the payment history then I'm calling the CRBs on Monday because this was definitely done on my collection account.
