Judgment Deleted

Hi! Everybody,

Just wondering if anybody just had judgment removed from their credit file recently, my wife's report has it since 2012, we looked it up from where it is filed and court said they no longer have it but it is still visible upon doing case search. It is showing Dismissed with prejudice / vacated with zero dollar amount, so we did dispute it online with the 3 bureaus and luckily Transunion and Equifax responded quickly with the word DELETED ( Feb. 04,2017 ), still waiting on Experian to do the same, now my question, when do they or when do I see an updated report without it, report is still showing it, will it raise her score? thanks!!!

Re: Judgment Deleted

It depends on if she has any other derogatory accounts on her reports.

Re: Judgment Deleted

She will probably get a boost, but not a big one while the lates are there. Has she tried sending GW letters asking for a deletion?

Re: Judgment Deleted

First off, congratulations on getting it removed.

Second, I too had a paid judgement from 2012 recently removed from my credit file and I noticed about a 20 point jump. The older a judgement is (whether it is paid or unpaid) the less of an impact it has on your score already. So because the judgement was already 5 years old, the increase may not be too great mainly because it has already had less of an impact due to its age.

Re: Judgment Deleted

Hi! MRsolis,

Just wondering if how long it takes for them to remove it from the report completely, bec. we received the corfirmation from TU and EQ that investigation is complete and it stated DELETE, is it automatic on their side or we need to do other steps, how long it took yours to be removed,Thanks!!

Re: Judgment Deleted

As soon as it's deleted it's gone. Some monitoring sites might not show it gone until the next update.

Re: Judgment Deleted

It depends on her file. And I don't think time is really the factor. I had 2 scheduled to drop 2017 and 2018. So they were 5 and 6 years old. But on TU and EX I had no other negatives. Both scores increased 60+ points. On EQ I have a medical collection that updates at least every other month. EQ went up about 35 points.

I have the same student loan lates from 2014 on all 3 bureaus.

Also my experience that when they say it's deleted it really is gone.  Where are you monitoring your reports?

Capital One Savor: $9,000; Nordstrom Visa: $6,700; Mission Lane: $4,500; LOFT MC: $4,000; AAA Daily Advantage: $3,700; PenFed Power Cash Rewards: $2,000; Capital One: $550 (reallocated $2k to Savor)

Store/Other: Care Credit: $12,000; Amazon: $2,500; Kohls: $2,750; Home Depot: $2,250; Target: $1,600

Re: Judgment Deleted

If a CRA deletes disputed information as a result of their reinvestigation of a dispute, they are required to send a Notice of Results of Renvestigation providing that finding, and to additionally accompany the Notice of Results with a copy of a revised credit report showing that they have actually made the deletion from your file.

FCRA 611(a)(6)(B)(ii).

The purpose of the requirment is to avoid your concern that the CRA has delayed in the actual deletion.
