Judgments

I am on a limited income and I have had a few judgments placed on me the last year from credit card debts 3-4 years ago. My income is disability of $750 per month. I will never be able to pay these judgements. Is there any possible way to satisfy these judgments by some howappealing to those I owe? Is there any recommendations?
I got in over my head and really errored not thinking ahead to the problems i had undertook. When looking to relocate itcauses complications in acceptance by no landlords even though my rent has never been late in my life.
What are my options? Any input will be greTly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Judgments

Would need more detail here.
What creditors secured the judgment?
What state are the judgments in?
Is your disability permanent or temporary?

Any info you can give would help.

Re: Judgments

A judgment creditor can agree to accept any amount they choose as satisfaction of a debt, even after they secure a judgment.

Since they have obtained the right by securing a judgment to then go back to the court and obtain a specific, addtional order for required payment of the judgment debt, such as taking of assets or garnishment of pay, they will likely be less amenable to a settlement for less after they have a court judgment in their pocket, but it is up to them.

If you wish to attempt negotiation of a settlment for less, then yes, you can contact the judgment creditor and make an offer.

Re: Judgments

State of Iowa and I dont foresee an end to the disability. Its income that cant be garnished. I unintentionally misjudged and got in over my head by about $400 in credit card debt and have 2 judgements of approximately $2000. I own nothing of value. I deeply regret this error in my income and expenses. I believe in paying debts and if I knew then what I know now this miatake woukd not have happened. This can stay as it is, but then noone accomplishes much. Im just not sure of the best method that Im able toprovide and they are willibg to accept to amend this. Or if they want this amended. I guess Im just lokking for suggestions because I feel guilty about this and it also hinders my possibility of relocating my rental housing to another acceptable place. My credit was alright when i moved where i now live 6 years ago. But this place is possibly causing complications with my ashthma. Anyway looking for suggestions or ideas of possibilities that both parties might be able to accept.
