Quick recap;
Emailed the CEO of Verizon
One of his people called me back
I asked to have the collection taken off my CR if I paid in full since I never got a final bill
He reviewed my account and said NO
I told him to send me a final bill then and I'd decide if I wanted to pay it
Received a copy of the final bill
I sent PFD letters to a few Verizon addresses
Last night KCA financial or whoever it was called (said he was calling from Verizon) me to say that they wanted to take care of this so they can take it off my credit report. I asked him if he received my letter and that's why he was calling. He said he didn't know of anything about any letter. So it looks like I woke them up and that jerkwad gave them my cell number. From what I can gather from my conversations with Verizon is KCA isn't a "collection agency" so to speak they don't report, it's like Verizon's internal collection department or something?? I then asked "are you from Verizon?" and he said no he's from KCA so I said I'd wait to hear from Verizon and hung up.
My question is should I call them back and have them send me a letter saying they will remove the account from my credit report if I pay in full or wait for Verizon to respond, which they may never respond. Do you think that KCA can help me get this resolved?

KCA is a CA. DW had a Verizon landline CO that eventually went to KCA Financial out of IL. Verizon won't respond. KCA will be of no help. I'd get ready to DV KCA as they will send you a dunning letter in the next week or two.
If you want Verizon off, then your recourse is with Verizon. That wasn't cool what they did. I'd keep up with the PFDs to them. Try the execs. Try planetfeedback.com (helped with a PFD for my Verizon Wireless acct). In the future, if a PFD hasn't been accepted, Verizon will sell the account and will delete. However, then you'd have to face a CA. BTW, DW's is now AFNI.
