LVNV Question

LVNV is showing up on my report like this:

Condition: Closed (Paid) Closed (Paid) Derogatory

-       Balance: $0   $0-

Type: Factoring company account Unknown - credit extension, review, or collection

-       Pay Status: Collection/Chargeoff Collection/Chargeoff Late 120 Days

I don't know what account this is for and I am not really sure how to approach this. I don't remember paying this company anything.  Should I call them, DV or PFD or dispute?

Re: LVNV Question

I'd first pull the CR directly from the CRA. EX and TU have drop off dates and should list the OC. If you still don't recognize it, I'd start with a DV. You cannot PFD as it is paid.

Re: LVNV Question

If you have no knowledge of the account and never paid them, I would DV them.

Is there a previous balance listed? Anything reported that you can use to link this up to an OC?

Have you pulled reports directly from the CRA to see what they show?

Re: LVNV Question

Once you have exhausted the DV process, I would send an ITS letter for incorrect reporting in violation of FCRA and threaten to sue for $1,000 for each CRA that this TL is reported to.

If they don't remove or rectify to exactly match what it should be, I would bring them to court in Small Claims at least for the Type of Account and for pay status.
