Hello all just had a question not sure if this has happened to anyone else I have been rebuilding for about a year now manage to get all but the last two baddies off of my report...one is an unpaid medical from 2012 ($300) the other is a recent collection from diversified consultants (sprint oc)...that I've dv....I received a dv from them a out a month ago...I've been contacting sprint for weeks trying to get them to recall the debt no dice....all of sudden it came off of my exp last week...just exp....no letter telling me it would...not sure what is going on...not sure if it will come back on not sure what to do...? I already have an agreement with the medical for pfd...waiting for that in the mail but this sprint collection has been the hardest to deal with out of all 30 baddies I've manage to remove on my own...any advice or help would be great...also gave me a 15 point bump in exp (632 now)
I owed sprint 600 bucks and diversified consultants let me pay half and then deleted it without me even asking or doing a pfd. Did you request a pfd from diversified?
No, I mean did you ask if they will delete it after payment?
You could try asking the CA for a pfd with the settlement. But IMO, depending on how old the debt is, if you have to choose between 800 and no delete or 1100 and deleted, i'd pay the 1100.
Like I said, they deleted without me even mentioning deletion after paying half(i paid it before i knew how this all worked).... so I'm pretty sure they'd be willing to negotiate a deletion if you're paying like 75%.
They are likely in the process of switching to a new debt collector.
CRA reporting policy mandates that a debt collector delete their reported collection if their collection authority is terminated without satisfaction of the debt.
That is likely the reason for their deletion.
It may be an ideal time to contact Sprint and make payment before they reassign to a new debt collector.......
