Have 2 accounts on my CR from this place. Did some research to find out it is a CA posing as a Law Office and deceiving people by threatening them with jail and other nonsense. Their website is only a Pay Your Bill here place. Found a RipOff report stating the "Company may go by any of the following three names
The Law Firm of Mitchell D. Bluhm and Associates, Barnes Bluhm and Associates, Barnes Bloom and Associates". Here is the link: http://www.ripoffreport.com/r/barnes-bloom-and-associates/unk-kansas-/barnes-bloom-and-associates-gr...
I also looked them up with the BBB and WOW! Almost everyone is complaining that they requested DV and got no response. The CA said they never received the request but they show the debt to be valid and belonging to said person, but they agreed to remove it from the CR for good measure. Just FYI!

One would file a complaint with the CFPB if the CA were to be making threats of jail, that is totally against the law, its also against the law for a CA to masqerade as a law office. I would also request 1K for each violation of law in the complaint to the CFPB.
+1. File the complaint and I would consider filing a small claims suit for FDCPA violations.
