Leave it alone or....?

I recently paid off on a closed account that was sent to a collection agency. To my surprise, the same collection agency has another debt listed for 5 years ago in their systems, but hasn't been reported on my CR. The debt is from an old Bally's Membership.

So the original debt holder plus the collection agency are listed on my report...Would it be wise to see if the collection agency will remove the listing or would I be pushing my luck? Please help!

I'm confused....

The debt collector has not yet reported to the CRA, yet the OC and the debt collector are listed on your report?

Re: Leave it alone or....?

Apologies....
The OC and CA are both reporting the same debt on my report. (Recently paid)
The CA has a second debt from a different OC, not listed on my report.
Would it be a risk to ask the creditor to remove first debt to be removed from my report without the second one being listed?

Re: Leave it alone or....?

If your deletion request is intended for the debt collector, it is possible for them to do a name review of their records, and raise the issue of the other collection.

It's a possibility.  How old is the debt on the second account, which relates to how long, even if they were to report, it remain in your credit report?

The second one is nearing 5 years now, so it's close to the fall of mark. Should I just wait?
