I hored them today because I can't handle the stress of dealing with Collection Agencies and Creditors. Looking for some feedback for those that have used Lexington Law.
The conseses will say that everything they can do for you, you can do yourself. Me personally, I don't have the time nor the patience to deal with it all which is why I used LL. Actually, I just cancelled my membership today because it's been close to a year now since I signed up and I am at a stale mate with my remaining negatives. I started out with a score of around 500, currently I am at where my signature says I am. Took me a year to get there with LL. Charge offs, collections, and a judgment was what they helped get off of my report. I am currently in the rebuilding stage and I applied for a secured CC with my local credit union and got one. I thought ah what the hey, and I applied for a Capital One unsecured card and was a accepted with a $500 limit. I was a ecstatic to say the least. My advice, if you have the time and patience, then save your money and do it yourself. If you want someone else to do the work for you, then by all means hire LL.
I hire them too like 2-3 years ago, long story short after one year and about 600-700 $ spend on them got one collection out of 2 from experian deleted. funny thing is I clean up all my negative items from cr in one month for free!!! Keep your money you can do this yourself or if you have too much you can send to my paypal account.
I will admit that before joining this forum, I signed up for their services, and I feel like they have served their purpose AND cost me a pretty penny! If I would have known about this forum before joining, I could have saved a substantial amount of $. Fast forward six months after joining their program, I feel like they have done all they can for "MY" situation and I do plan to cancel their services at the end of this month! I TOTALLY AGREE with everyone that YOU CAN DO exactly what they do and probably better. I have seen some of their so-called correspondence and boy it looks like 3rd grade homework but whatever they did for me WORKED, and their payday is just about over...
My personal view is that your bad marks are legitimate, working on it yourself will be more effective. Goodwill gestures (such as GW removals and PFDs) are more likely to be accepted if you personally reach out to companies than if a lawyer sends things on your behalf, which seems threatening. I'm sure a lot of these companies are also used to dealing with LL on a regular basis. Again, just my opinion, but I would rather save my money to pay off my debts (or buy myself something nice or whatever) than pay someone else to do something I can do myself.
I am curious though for those of you who used LL. How much do they charge? How do they charge, ie monthly, per correspondance, per tradeline, etc? I considered hiring them before I dove in myself.
I had nothing but GREAT success with Lexington.
My only regret? Cancelling their services once all my baddies had been removed by them. I got in on them with a great price and should have just kept them on stand-by.
Why pay strangers a monthly fee with your personal info when you can do it yourself? I went from 540s to 670s in a little over a year.
I just wish I would of spent a couple months studying hard before I acted. I would probably be over 700 by now.
I have not used them personally but heard that they did a good job from a friend who did. I used a different company and got great results. Many people here will tell you to just do it yourself. I choose to pay someone else because I knew that I did not have the time or patience for it. I paid much more thatn Lexington charges and still have 0 regrets! Good Luck!
