Looking ahead

I'm in the rebuilding process, and am cleaning up some old baddies via PTD and dispute. I had been advised last year that I was a good candidate for Ch7, I filed, but got a second opinion, decided it wasn't right for me, and withdrew it. The filing shows as dismissed on my CR as of 2/16. What I'm curious about is how I can work around this as I continue this process. I'm scared that I'm blacklisted by come companies, even though I didn't go through with the bk. I do have a good recent history with no lates, and a decent mix.

How can I work around the withdrawn bk, can I get it off the CR somehow (or lessen its impact), and what issuers should I just steer clear of until enough time has passed?

Re: Looking ahead

Dismissal of a BK filing is in the public record, and  can be included in your credit report.

It informs others that creditors can thereafter pursue the debt that was previously subject of a possible BK discharge.

If it is reporting correctly, it will remain until excluded at 7 years.

You can attempt to get the court to remove from the public record if there is some inaccuracy, but otherwise, there is no process for "un-ringing the bell," and mandating its removal.
