Midland lied to me

I'm so close to qualifying for this mortgage and Midland is the only thing holding me back! I spoke to the manager and he assured me that if I paid that they would delete it from the credit bureau. I contacted him after I paid and he assured me that he would talk to the necessary people to help me get this deleted although they usually dont do that. Today he said he spoke with a lady in the customer service dept that would be willing to delete it and gave me her ext.  I contacted that extension and she told me the same thing that they don't delete only update to PIF. Please if anybody have any suggestions on what can be done or any contacts I can contact in corporate to honor what the manager told me. I would really appreciate any help.

Re: Midland lied to me

Did you get it in writing?   That is why it's always better to deal with them through mail or email.  If not, hound the crap out of that guy until you get it.

Re: Midland lied to me

I  didn't get it in writing thats the problem. That's why I'm trying to get someone's corporate info maybe an email address or fax number that can give me a resolution.

Re: Midland lied to me

They did the same thing to me with a Tmobile account. Told me it will be removed within ten days if PIF. I sent a complaint to the BBB and they're currently investigating it. Hopefully they'll delete it. My only collection.

Re: Midland lied to me

Not sure if it will work for you but you could try a BBB complaint.

I had a CA that promised me the same thing but only updated to paid.  I filed a complaint with the BBB just stating that the CA promised they would delete the account once they received the payment in full but never did and to my surprise it was deleted in two weeks.

Re: Midland lied to me

I'm going to go to the bbb then. I really appreciate the responses. The midland manager just called me back a few hours ago and said he's very sorry he spoke with his consumer relations dept in great detail about the situation and what he told me and they still wouldnt remove it. The manager said he feels very bad because he told me they would and he did sound sincere. But he says they are the only ones with the power to delete. I'm going to report to the BBB like you all suggested. Thank you again and if anyone has any contact info please send it because I'm still interested in hounding them as well.

Re: Midland lied to me

I reported them to the BBB as well. They replied asking me to fax a notice of release so they could discuss the issue with Midland. I faxed it back and never heard anything.

After following up with the BBB I was told they had never received the fax and I would have to file another complaint. FYI.

They're bullies, liars, and thieves.

Good luck.

A CA's word is never their bond. Never trust a CA.
