Just wanted to share some experiences with these companies from my perspective.
Mission Lane, never heard of the company 18 months ago, got a pre-approved mailer from them for their No Annual Fee card. At the time my score was probably in the high 500s and was rocking 2 Credit One cards with annual, monthly and probably hourly fees and a Capital One Card that was sitting at a $500 limit and a like $40? annual fee for a few years with every CL increase request declined.
Decided to give Mission a shot, started with a $750 CL and used it right away for a 3 day weekend cabin trip with the lovely GF. Paid that off fast and just put my monthly gym membership on the card paying in full every month. After 6 months w/o a request, CL increased to $1250. Okay I thought, cool my highest limit card. Another 6 months goes by, only charging $27 for the gym and maybe 5 or 10 extra bucks here and there paying in full. CL boost to $1250. Another 6 months, same spending...CL increase to $1750. Just yesterday my 18 month hit another non-requested increase to $2750 CL. I have read some bad reviews for Mission Lane on here, but for me, this has been the BEST rebuilder card....yea no Cash Back and no Rewards but I feel like this is how these companies should treat you. In 18 months, they have not earned 1 cent from me on Fees or Interest and still have raised my CL $2000 in 18 months without me asking.
Ah NFCU, I would never have heard of this CU if not for this board. I was in the Navy about 22 years ago and thought meh, lets give this a try. Applied for a CC and was promptly denied around 8/2020. By October 2020 decided I had a little extra cash and got a savings account with $1k and used that to fund a nRewards for $650.00. February on a whim I decided to check some preapprovals. Bang GoRewards approved with a $10k limit...BY FAR the highest CL I have ever had. Okay we are rocking! Just hit my 6th full statement on the nRewards 4/1 and was sad to see I did not graduate. Okay, maybe next month. Well checked my account 4 days later and that pretty baby blue card was replaced with a green Cash Rewards with a $2k limit! NFCU has really treated me better than any other bank has ever treated me. Thinking about a home refi with them in 9 months or so when stuff falls off my CR and my student loans are paid.
If anyone has questions or comments about either institution, shoot a reply. Hope this helps some people.
Congrats on your successes with them, and in putting in the proper work to earn the increases, accounts, and rewards ![]()
Awesome! Great work! Did mission lane do a SP when you originally requested a CLI? I've never asked them for one but I also don't use the card regularly.
Congratulations on your success tu79698acd196d5576ac2005fffe7fa3_128.png
Grats on the success!
Congrats on the rebuild and success.
Starting Score: EQ584 TU553 EX 539Thanks all.
As for the SP question. There were never any SPs from Mission Lane on my report. Though all the CLI I have received from them were not requested, they just shot me emails saying that they were increasing my CL.
