My experian went down 7 pts. I checked my report and it looks like Show MC (Bryant state bank) updated my 912 balance to 558. They agreed if I paid 371 they would settle the account- now I have two years of an updated charge off and still a balance reporting. Very frustrating...
Typically when you settle for less, the creditor will first deduct your settlement amount from the outstanding balance the first month, and then the following month zero out the balance.
Woke up to my transunion Fico score- up 41 pts to 670!! I'm in the good range. The two collection accounts have fallen off of all three bureaus (equifax is still showing one collection). My EQ is 645 and my EX is still dropped to 637. Is this much of a discrepency normal? The charge off amount has been updated on my transunion so I'm hoping it won't drop back down. So nice to be in the good range finally!
Yes. It is norral for EQ to give many people a hard time.
Wait and see what shake out over the next 2 or 3 business days. Hopefully by then the collection you will.see a change on your EQ reports.
Keep updating progress, I love to read how this continues to turn around for you!

The discrepancy is totally normal. Sometimes it's like watching paint dry, but it will happen.
Congrats on taking control of your credit and try to enjoy the journey as it slowly comes into focus. Most of us took years beating ourselves up credit wise and it takes time / effort to get it all worked out.
Please keep reporting updates as we love hearing about the journey!

Scores are all dropping like dominoes. Equifax fico score down 24 pts. Only change is the updated charge off. I knew it would happen but it still stings. Can't believe I paid 400 bucks to tank my scores. Trans is the only score still at 670 but just waiting for that to tank next.

Sorry for the drops, but in the long run, it's better that you did pay it. Your scores will recover in due time.
What a rollercoaster ride! Doing the right thing isn't always easy, especially when it feels like you're being punished for it. Congratulations on the progress you're making (even if it doesn't feel like it) and double congrats to your son for getting accepted into his dream school! It's all going to be worth it in the end.
The balance on my charge-off just updated to 0 on my experian-
45 pt increase!! Experian was my lowest score (I have a credit card that isn't reporting on it for some reason) and now it's my highest at 682!! Woo hoo!

I just got off the phone with a Kohl's executive. The CEO recieved my email and she is completely deleting the late payments from 2020 like they never happened! I already got an alert from Credit Karma that they were removed!! I am over the moon. All I literally did was send a quick email to the CEO- I did not do anything formal. I just said I had a rough start to 2020 and haven't been late since (there were 3 30 day late payments) and that of course I love being a Kohl's customer.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, right!!?
@KateInquires Mamba Mentatlity, right there! I know, I know. The great Wayne Gretzky said that.....but that is SOOOOO Mamba Mentality (RIP, Kobe!).
I have a C/O from several years ago. If I might suggest, if you have nothing better to do (or, if you want some night time reading....only half-kidding there), look back at my posts about the Merrick C/O. There are some things in there that might be useful for you.....there is a lot of information in there (so, be forewarned) but it might help you (and anyone else who reads about that struggle).
Congrats on cleaning things up. It is ABSOLUTELY empowering to take care of the mess (and I am using that term regarding MY journey) and to start seeing positive things happening. Hey, if this old man can clean things up and can look brightly into the future then anyone can (its all about perspective and mindset.....).
Again, amazing job cleaning things up.
Well, my charge-off updated to 0 balance on all reports.
After lots of ups and downs, my scores today:
Eq 654 Tr 670 Ex 678
Yay! I know I have a ways to go but I am chipping away at all balances (finally dropped below 49% utilization) and was just approved for Amex Hilton Honors card that will certainly come in handy.
I'd like to get my score up a bit for one more card before I hit the garden! So nice to see the score going in the right direction for once!
Thanks everyone!!
