I have a collection question that I am hoping you can help me with. We had an account with National Gridand moved to a new place in Jan 2012. We still kept National Grid and they send us new bills every month and we paid them. We never received mail at the old address because it was a rental while we were building a new home. Our mail was going to the address of our new home. I found out that there is a collection on my account from the old address where we had a National Grid account. We never received the dunning notice because we didn't get mail there. I asked National Grid to remove the collection and they refused. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they still refuses to delete it. I don't know what else to do. So I file a complaint with the AG? We have a current account with them. They have our current address for several years, yet they never tried to send us notice of that debt there. They claim they sent it to the old address. Well, we never got mail there so we didn't get these either. They have never once sent us a collection letter at our address we have had for the past few years. Do we have a leg to stand on? We would have paid the bill had we received the letter. We just never did. I would appreciate any help you can offer me on what to do to get this off my CR. Thanks.
